23 Songs

June 2011- a bit of a blast back to some music of younger days -Paul(s) Macca and Simon and Dylan (turning 70), the Flames tour to SA, remembering a lost friend and a few other odds and ends.

1)HOLD ON DEAR BROTHER (Beach Boys)
2)LEAVING THIS TOWN (Beach Boys): Best of the Flames (who reunited in South Africa in March), when they were Beach Boys (well, two of them were)
3) YOU'RE A BIG GIRL NOW (Bob Dylan)
4) GIRL FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY (Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash)
5) ALL THE TIRED HORSES (Bob Dylan)
6) NOT DARK YET (Bob Dylan): In celebration of the great Bob's 70th, a rather varied and possibly obtuse selection of his songs.
7) ROCK THE CASBAH (Clash): In memory of Antony Hayes -brewmaster, actuary and Clash fan of legend.
8) THE ELEVENTH SONG (Johnny Rivers): On a Johnny Rivers album, but actually with female vocals. Jimmy Webb at his most sunshiney.
9) LOOK TO YOUR SOUL (Johnny Rivers)
10) IT'LL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN (Johnny Rivers): From the Rewind/Revitalization CD - nothing to do with Jimmy Webb, but still very nice.
11) EXCUSES (Morning Benders)
12) WET CEMENT (Morning Benders): I first hears this group as part of advert -thought it was an old song, but it's actually quite current. Glad good pop is still around.
13) TWICE IN A LIFETIME (Paul McCartney)
14) NO VALUES (Paul McCartney)
15) PIPES OF PEACE (Paul McCartney)
16) THE BACK SEAT OF MY CAR (Paul and Linda McCartney)
17) PICASSO'S LAST WORDS (Paul McCartney And Wings)
18) SILLY LOVE SONGS (Wings) : The underrated solo career of Paul -grew up with many of these songs as a teenager in the 80s.
19) FATHER AND DAUGHTER (Paul Simon)
20) TIME IS AN OCEAN (Paul Simon)
21) GRACELAND (Paul Simon)
22) MY LITTLE TOWN (Simon And Garfunkel)
23) TRAIN IN THE DISTANCE (Paul Simon): The other Paul - also grew up with some of these songs.
