Llangollen Railway

A preserved railway in North East Wales that runs through very nice scenery along the River Dee, with two spectacular, historical station buildings at Llangollen and Berwyn. This was a former Great Western line. A few pictures at and near the railway taken on a visit on 10 and 11 September 2005. Official website of the railway is at http://www.llangollen-railway.co.uk/index.html.

Llangollen station from the bridge across the river Dee, also used for white water rafting.

Nice floral arrangements at the bridge across the river in Llangollen.

A souvenier shop in Llangollen. Say the name five times, very fast....

Berwyn is the first station after Llangollen, and is a very spectacular building in a scenic location. This is the manmade Horseshoe Falls in the river Dee.

This is the station building at Berwyn.

The Chain Bridge at Berwyn with the hotel of the same name.

Another closer view of the station building.

The road bridge across the river at Berwyn.

A train coming into Berwyn station.
