The Kent And East Sussex Railway

This is a photo collection from my September 2005 visit to England when I visited the K&ESR. It's a very pleasant rural line in the south of England that was independent for many years, even after the 1923 grouping. After being closed, it now survives as a preserved line. Website is http://www.kesr.org.uk. These pictures concentrate on the interesting array of signals at Tenterden.

Three views of the advance starter signal at Tenterden, with a draw ahead signal at the bottom. One of my favorite signals anywhere in the world- I guess due to the location and the unusual subsidiary signal.

The home signal at Tenterden, some distance from the signal. Main, loop and calling on signal.

Bodiam is the other terminus, and features an historic castle, shown here.
